Band Description.

No Rule Six is a band that plays a huge variety of music but focuses on current modern rock. No Rule Six can rock the house with hard heavy modern rock and turn around and stir up the crowd with lively dance music. With such a diverse list of songs, NR6 can tailor the entertainment to nearly any venue or event. If one was to pick radio stations that best represent the band it would be 97.9 KUPD, 101.5 KZON and 96.9 The Mix.

Band History.

No Rule Six was founded May 25th, 2002. Doug King and former No Rule Six drummer Steve Nienstedt put ads out in the New Times. looking for a bass player and vocalist. After auditioning more than 30 people, the initial core of talent was formed with Steve Keoppel handling the lead vocals, Doug King handling guitars and backing vocals, Jeff Wagner handling backing vocals and the bass and Steve Nienstedt playing drums. The band also added aspiring songwriter and guitarist, Anjela Shaw to the line-up.

No Rule Six played their first show on October 26th, 2002. The line-up to the band changed six months later with Nienstedt and Shaw leaving the band. For a replacement, NR6 found Ray Olson, an acquaintance of Jeff Wagner. Together, Wagner an Olsen formed the "Rhythm Section of Doom" which is also sometimes known as the "Rhythm Section of Duckies and Bunnies" or the "Rhythm Section of Biscuits and Gravy."

The band kept this format playing until April, 2004 when Steve Keoppel left the band and was replaced with Nate Eyler, formerly of Phoenix Down. Since Nate joined NR6, the band had severely kicked up the regularity of playing out.

No Rule Six has played over 50 shows at venues such as Sugar Daddy's, Cocomo Joe's, Fuel Motor Sport Cafe, O'Kelley's, Faces Lounge, The Tijuana Country Club, The Amber Inn and others. Among the Corporate events, No Rule Six has played multiple corporate events Chubb Insurance Groupand America West Airlines. No Rule Six has also played several private parties and provided Disk Jockey Services.

No Rule Six said a reluctant goodbye to "Nayt" in October or 2005 and went through a prolonged process of replacing him. NR6 ended up re-adding Steve Keoppel to the lineup. Steve also brought the always smiling Sarah into the band to add a new dimension to the music. Sarah is a talented vocalist and also will be adding keyboards to the overall sound that is No Rule Six.

Nate left the band in August 2005 having played 34 shows in the 14 months that NR6 played out with him.

Steve Keopple rejoined the band in February 2006 after a less than inspiring round of auditions. Keopple also brought along Sarah Bermeister to accompany his vocal talents and to expand the scope of songs that NR6 could perform. Sarah played 16 shows with the band before deciding that she needed to focus on her career and couldn't dedicate enough time to the band.

Steve Keopple decided to leave the band in order to focus on what is truely important in his life. That being raising his son to the best of his abilities.

In late September 2007, No Rule Six added Mark Wright as our newest vocalist and front man. Mark will bring No Rule Six to the next level as one of the premier cover bands in the Phoenix Area.
